These nativities take up to ten days to craft each one. They are incredibly special, lovingly crafted by so many different hands along the way! It is child-friendly from hand felted wool in Bethlehem and comes in three sizes.
Nativities include Joseph, Mary, and Baby Jesus as well as a sheep inside and are shaped like a manger with a star on top.
It is 100% handmade from locally sourced wool that is sheared by a shepherdess. So in addition to generating income for the folks at Ma’an Lil Hayyat who make the felt, this project also generates income for the shepherdess’ family.
Ma’an Lil Hayyat is a wonderful initiative for people with special needs. Located in a historic house in the heart of the old city of Bethlehem, this project buys wool and processes it by hand into felt. Members of this initiative come to socialize and work in a supportive and fun environment, creating beautiful pieces from wool they make.Â
