Each doll has her name hand painted on her tummy next to a heart shaped belly button! The dresses are fully handcrafted with traditional tatreez and even the doll’s beautiful face is lovingly hand painted on! The tatreez is from women in Palestinian villages working from home is a skill passed on, the craft of traditional Palestinian tatreez.
This hand stitching work is done by Manjel Ma’qoud, a group we began in December of 2023 in response to the desperate economic situation imposed on Occupied Palestine. It provides income generation to 43 women.
