Watermelon is an important heirloom fruit grown in Palestine in the summers and often eating with jibna bayda, a salty boiled goat’s cheese. It’s delicious! Watermelon has also become an important symbol of Palestine since the flag was banned by the Israeli occupation and artists used this traditional fruit to represent the struggle.
